Life-changing Stories

John comes from a broken home. His father left home when he was a young boy. Lacking a fathers love and parental guidance he found comfort in his friends and slowly began to get involved in drugs and violence. He is behind bars and this is not his first time. He wants to come clean but he just does not know how.

His single mother is struggling to make ends meet to provide for his two siblings.

Alex had everything , a good job and a family with three children. His meeting with some old friends and a chance to get some ‘quick’ money’ illegally went bad for him. Now he is behind bars and his family wants to disown him. He wishes so badly to be forgiven and restored to his family.

Joseph has come out of prison wanting to be a better person. His past becomes a hindrance in securing a steady job and a living. Prospective employers do not trust him. He  wonders, “Why won’t anyone give me a chance to prove I’ve changed?”

These aren’t just stories. Prison Fellowship meets people in these situations every day. Chances are you’ve met them too. The men and women that our criminal justice system releases from prison each year return to communities around the country—including yours.

Without your help, their stories do not have an ending.

John’s habits will hurt him and others around him more. His mother and siblings will continue to bear  the consequences

Alex will continue to suffer in silence wondering whether there will ever be forgiveness for him. He misses his family

Joseph  will lose hope, return to his old ways, and end up back in prison.

But what if things could be different?

As Christians we believe that Jesus—Himself brought to trial, executed, buried, and brought to life again—offers hope, healing, and a new purpose for each life. Even the most broken people and situations can be made whole again. Through an amazing awakening to new hope and life purpose, those who once broke the law are transformed and  the cycle of crime is replaced by a cycle of renewal.

What if you could be the to bring the good news of hope to them ? That there is forgiveness in God and a hope of a new life in Christ. What if you could meet them regularly , love them and assist them in rebuilding their lives in Christ. What if they leave the prisons a reformed and transformed person.  What if you could journey with them in their walk back to society.

Think of their families and their children.

Through Prison Fellowship, you can!
